District Attorney William “Adam” Hopper confirmed Tuesday afternoon that the three juveniles arrested Monday in connection with Grenada High School student Ayden Reno’s death are being charged as adults.
Lamarion Henderson, 18; Nickolus M. Brown, 16, and Zacarias L. Steward, 15, were arrested Monday and booked in the Grenada County Jail, according to booking documents. All three have been charged with First-Degree Murder – Deliberate Design and are each being held in the Grenada County Jail on $250,000 bonds.
Grenada Police Department Chief George Douglas announced the arrests just before 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 29, a week following the discovery of the 16-year-old’s body, however, the suspects’ names were not released at that time. Reno was discovered in “brushy overgrown area” adjacent to a residence next to Honeytown Park in the 700 block of Leigh Avenue at approximately 11:41 p.m. last Monday, Sept. 22.
“We extend our deepest condolences to Mr. Reno’s family and loved ones during this difficult time,” Chief Douglas said.
Last week, Chief Douglas added that a call of shots fired was reported in the area earlier that evening. However, the cause of Reno’s death has not been released as being that of a gunshot wound.
Reno was a junior at GHS. He wore No. 27 on the Chargers football team participating as a defensive back. He was also a member of Visions show choir.

The circumstances surrounding the case remain under investigation.
“The Grenada Police Department solicits the support of the community by providing any information in connection with the case,” Chief Douglas concluded.
