Emergency personnel responded to a three-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer and two passenger vehicles shortly before 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at the intersection of highways 35 and 19 in Attala County. The Attala County Fire Department, Attala County sheriff’s deputies, emergency medical personnel and the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded. One driver was trapped inside a vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters before being transported by ambulance to a hospital. The driver’s condition was not immediately available. Debris, including parts of the tractor-trailer, was scattered around the crash scene as emergency crews worked to clear the roadway. The cause of the crash remained under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
