Mrs. Maxine McDaniel Merrifield, 85, died Thursday, December 17, 2020, at Baptist-Attala Medical Center in Kosciusko, MS.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 22, at Bear Creek Baptist Church in McCool. Visitation will be at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. before services, with burial at Bear Creek Cemetery with Reverend Chet Ferguson officiating.
Mrs. Merrifield was a former telephone operator with BellSouth in Vicksburg, MS, a buyer for Yankees Department Store and Perry Drugs in Michigan. She also was an employee of McCool Water, City of McCool, MS, and former treasurer with Bear Creek Baptist Church, where she was a member.
Mrs. Merrifield is survived by her daughter, Toni Smythe, and her husband, Tom, of McCool, MS; and a son, Gary Dozier and his wife, Michelle, of Holly, MI; sisters, Ouida Thrailkill and her husband, Percy, of McCool, MS, Barbara Jean Lansdale and her husband, Chuck, of Ocean Springs, MS, and Shirley McDaniel Romines and her husband, Frank ,of McCool, MS; a brother, Lamar McDaniel of Auburn, KY;
Grandchildren, Nicole Burow and husband, Jeff, Bobby Hanadel and wife, Katie, Jamie Hill, and husband, Shawn, and Veronica Sulzmann and husband, Dallas; great-grandchildren, Kennadie Burow, Allen Burow, Danny Burow, Cayden Hanadel, Caylee Hanadel; great-great-grandchildren Mason and Killian Hill; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Merrifield, Jr.; her parents, Huston and Mavis Bruce McDaniel; brothers, Junior McDaniel and Bruce McDaniel; and sister ,Sheila Brown.
Pall bearers are Bobby Hanadel, Cayden Hanadel, Jeff Burow, Allen Burow, Mitch Mitchell, Jr., Lamar McDaniel, and Danny Burow.
