Mary Evelyn Dickerson Crowder, 83, formerly of Durant, MS, went home to her Heavenly Father Wednesday, February 17, 2021.

Mary was a housewife and longtime active member of First Baptist Church of Durant, MS. For many years, she served as Sunday school secretary and was an active member of the hostess committee as well as the bereavement committee. She served as secretary for the Castalian Water Association for over 30 years. Her greatest love was for her family. Mary was a beloved wife, grandmother, community volunteer and friend. She was an extremely accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed farming, gardening, cutting grass, fishing, sports, her pets, and cooking. Hummingbird cake was her specialty. She loved raising and supporting her children and grandchildren, going to ballgames, playing cards, and family gatherings.

Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Joe; her parents, Elizabeth Dickerson and Dallas Dickerson; brother, Harold Dickerson; sister, Betty Pilgrim; daughter, Donna Chapman; and granddaughter, Shelly Guider.

She is survived by her son, Mike Crowder and wife, Jeanna, of Madison, MS; daughters, Wanda Casey and husband, Ricky, of Kosciusko, MS, and Lib Clark and husband, Mark, of Kosciusko, MS; sisters, Rowenna Upchurch, Sandra Hicks, Celia Holley, Peggy Smith, Nell Prevost; half-brother, Jimmy Dickerson; son-n-law, Tom Chapman; grandchildren, Kristin Selby, Courtney Pennington and husband Dusty, Scott Casey and wife, Lee, Emily Goldman and husband Paul, Jacob Casey and wife, Baylee, Jill Linkins and husband, Nathan, Jordan Clark and wife, Kayce, Josh Crowder and wife, Kristen; and Matt Crowder; and great-grandchildren, Ella, Brayden, Mason, DC, Kobe, Kaleb, Brady, Rainey, Finn, Nash, Ross Taylor, and Landon.

Pallbearers are Tom Chapman, Scott Casey, Jacob Casey, Josh Crowder, Matt Crowder, and Jordan Clark. Graveside services were February 20, 2021, at Sallis Cemetery. The family received friends Saturday February 20, 2021, at Culpepper Funeral Home in Kosciusko, Mississippi.
