Marie “Ree” Dickerson, 86, passed away Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021, at her residence.Funeral services were Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021 Graveside at Sallis Cemetery led by Reverend Gene Richardson. No visitation was planned.Marie was born September 30, 1934, in Attala County, to Henry Clay (Joe) and Myrtie Nowell Reynolds.Marie married Carlton R. (Ham) Dickerson on Jan. 11, 1951. They resided the majority of their 46 years of marriage in Sallis.She was the proud parent of Theresa M. Hughes (Gary), Samuel R. Dickerson, Miles C. Dickerson (Linda) and Jeff J. Dickerson (Cindy).She was lovingly called “Ree” by eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.Marie is survived by her children, their spouses, ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; her only sister Mavis Reynolds Draper, a sister-n-law Bobbie Carter Reynolds, along with numerous precious nieces, nephews and cousins.She also leaves behind her dearly devoted sitter Donna Winters, a devoted hospice nurse Wanda Johns and an exceptional CNA Lily Parks.Marie was a member of Unity Baptist Church.She was lovingly surrounded by many friends, neighbors and former coworkers.She worked for many years at Durant Sportswear and Madison Furniture in Canton.Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Ham, her parents Joe and Myrtie, her brothers Edwin and Elmer, one grandson Jason Dickerson and her two lap dogs Pup and Doc.Culpepper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
