Curtis Donald Dorsey, 87, of Crawfordsville, IN, passed away December 26, 2020, at Lane House Nursing Home due to Covid-19. He was born Dec. 29, 1932, to Roy C. and Hester Brock Dorsey in the Bethel community in Leake County (near Carthage, MS). He retired as a welder from Ivey’s Mechanical with 33 years’ service, and 16 years prior to that at MRS Equipment, both of Mississippi. He attended school in Mississippi. He was a Member of Midway Baptist Church in Carthage, MS. He also attended East Side Baptist in Crawfordsville. He was an avid hunter and loved gardening. His greatest joy was accepting Jesus as his Savior as a teenager. Then he said his second greatest joy was marrying his love, Mary E. Delk Tarter Dorsey, on June 21, 1984 in Crawfordsville, IN.He is survived by his wife, Mary; two sons Larry (Jennifer) Dorsey of Pearl, MS, and Rodney (Melody) Tarter of Crawfordsville, IN; six grandchildren, Shane Dorsey of Pearl, MS, Brent Tarter and Jessica of Chicago, Adam Tarter of the US Navy, Japan, Robert (Debi) Tarter and Jonathan (Melissa) Tarter of Crawfordsville, Amanda (Mikell) Calhoun of Brownsburg. Donald had six great-grandchildren, Dusty and Jacob Dorsey of Pearl, MS, Lillian Tarter of Crawfordsville, and Cayden, Alexus and Lucas Calhoun of Brownsburg, IN. He is also survived by brothers, Bernard O. Dorsey of Ohio and Lailon (Frankie) of Kosciusko, MS; and a sister, Genevieve Chipley of Louisiana. He had seven nieces and two nephews that he loved dearly, and friends too numerous to count.A graveside service will be held at Oak Hill North on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at noon with Pastor Nathan Chambers officiating.
