McAdams will host the Region 5-1A basketball tournament for boys and girls at Wilson Jackson Gymnasium. The six-team region includes Ethel, Leake County, McAdams, Nanih Waiya, Noxapater and Sebastopol.
The tournament begins Monday, February 9 with 6 vs. 3 and 5 vs. 4 games. The top two seeds draw first-rounds and play semifinal games the next day. Championship and consolation games will Friday the 13th.
The top four boys and girls team qualify for the 1A playoffs beginning February 16 for girls and February 17 for boys, with the top two earning home court.
McAdams boys coach Kyeson Jackson said his goal is to win the region tournament and be the Number One seed from 5-1A for the playoffs assuring home court for the second round if the Bulldogs make it there.
McAdams, Nanih Waiya and Sebastopol entered the current week tied for first for girls at 3-1 in a battle for the two first-round byes. Each will play the other two one more time.
