May & Bloom, a floral studio located on the Kosciusko square, officially celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Feb. 4, marking the milestone after opening its doors in October 2025.
Community members, local leaders and supporters gathered inside the shop to tour the space, visit with the owners and enjoy refreshments. As part of the celebration, owner Jodi May welcomed all the visitors.
May & Bloom offers a wide range of floral services and retail items, including fresh arrangements, a flower bar, home décor, ornaments, luxury ribbon, candles, sand wax, vases and other curated gifts. The shop occupies a historic building on the square that has served several purposes over the years, including as a café, a bank, and a dance studio before being renovated into its current form.
During the ceremony, Executive Director of the Kosciusko- Attala County Partnership
Mary Katherine Dean emphasized the importance of small businesses to the local economy and praised the investment being made in downtown Kosciusko.
Dean said. “Small businesses truly are the backbone of this town.”
Kosciusko Mayor Tim Kyle also recognized the importance of the new business.
May expressed gratitude for the community’s support during the shop’s first months of operation and said she is excited about the future.
May said. “We are really thankful. All have been so supportive.”
May & Bloom recently became a member of the Kosciusko Attala Partnership.
May & Bloom is located at 115 W. Jefferson St. in Kosciusko.
