Man Charged with Rape, held on $50,000 Bond

A man has been charged with rape and is being held in custody, authorities said Thursday, April 24.

Stephen D. Hutchison, 48, was arrested on April 22 and formally charged with rape, according to the Attala County Sheriff Curtis Pope. He is currently being held at the Leake County Correctional Facility on a $50,000 bond.

Officials did not release additional details about the circumstances of the charge. It is unclear if Hutchison has retained legal counsel.

The investigation is ongoing.
