Two new, technologically advanced scoreboards are coming to the baseball fields at Northside Park. At its last meeting, the board of aldermen accepted a quote from Rainey Electronics, Inc. of Little Rock, AR, for two Fair-Play scoreboards at a total cost of $7,960.
The two LED baseball scoreboards will be black in color and feature an MP-60 controller, a wireless system that comes preloaded with options for multiple sports and interfaces with a hand switch for timer and game clock control, according to the Fair-Play website’s description of the BA-7109-2 model.
Including a $342 aluminum surcharge, the two scoreboards cost $2,135 each. Two protective carrying cases for the controllers are included for $45 apiece in addition to two wireless controller system upgrades with transmitters and receivers totaling $900. A $900 shipping charge is also incorporated into the total cost.
A letter from a Rainey Electronics representative to Kosciusko Parks Director Todd Ables said benefits of the selected products will include a 100% solid-state scoreboard, a computerized microprocessor controller, an exclusive LED lighting system, “state-of-the-art” electronic technology, a 10-year parts and labor warranty, and quality installation.
