Mr. and Mrs. D.E. Morgan and their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. F.Z. Jackson, III, of Casselberry, Fla., are aboard the luxury steamship Ariadne on a recent cruise. The trip took them to Nassau and Freeport, Grand Bahama, from Port Everglades, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
Troy Cremeen Jr. of Weir has a tough time lifting a 27-pound catfish caught at Pelahatchie Bay on the Pearl River Reservoir. The youngster is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Trou Cremeen Sr.
Not many 19-year-olds have master-minded a three-county campaign. In fact, most teen-agers are thought to be skeptical toward politics, but not so with this University of Mississippi student. Harry Middlebrook Jr. of Kosciusko was youth coordinator in his home county for a candidate for governor last year, and also served as campaign manager for a powerful Mississippi senator representing three counties in the Legislature.

Hulet Gregory was the first runner to cross the finish line in Saturday’s 10K run. Gregory completed the run in 35 minutes and 28 seconds. Teresa Crothers was the first woman to cross the finish line. Crothers finished the race in 40 minutes and 46 seconds. Fifty-two runners participated in the race.
Bobby Crowe presents Even Thrasher and Shey Hutchison with rod and reels and medals for winning the casting competition at the Natchez Trace Festival this weekend. Bother youngsters have the opportunity to compete at the state competition later this year. The competition was put on by the Attala BASSMASTERS Chapter.
Kosciusko Junior High Band, composed of seventh and eighth graders, won all superior ratings in concert and sight reading at the Dr. Joe Barry Mullins Band Festival held April 12 in Grenada. The event was sponsored by the Mississippi High School Association. Each member of the band was presented a medal in the state competition. The band is under the direction of Alan Arendale, assisted by Mickey Mangum.
