“We can do hard things.” For Winston County natives Kyle and Kaci McDill, that simple phrase became a defining takeaway from their 211‑day journey on the Appalachian Trail.
The McDills decided to chronicle their hike in a book of their own, Mississippi Roots and Appalachian Boots, which was released on March 17, 2026.
