A pastoral inauguration will be held Sunday, Aug, 28, at Williamsville Independent Methodist Church during the 11 a.m. worship service to welcome Dr. Steve Blakemore who has assumed his duties as pastor.
Dr. Blakemore serves as the professor of Christian Thought at Wesley Biblical Seminary in Jackson. He holds a BA degree in Religion from Asbury University, the Masters of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary, the M.A. in Religion from Wake Forest University, and the Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Tennessee.
He was born in southwest Virginia and was raised in the coal-mining town of Appalachia, Va. He is married to Carolyn Berg-Blakemore and they have four adult sons.
The church congregation extends an invitation to the community and area pastors to come and meet Dr. Blakemore.
A luncheon/reception will be held in the Family Life Center until 3 p.m.
