If Devin Cox and Jennifer Massey ever had a doubt about the existance of a Good Samaritan they can put such thoughts to rest after an experience they had a few days before Christmas.
The Kosciusko couple was at Kangaroo Crossing when their car, a 2006 Saturn Ion, failed to crank. After several attempts to start the engine, they said they sat and contemplated about what to do.
With the car hood raised, peering underneath it and continuing to worry about their plight, they said a gentleman driving a Ford F150 drove up and motioned to Massey. When she approached him, she said he handed her a $100 bill and with a look of compassion said, “Go get your car fixed. God bless you.”
Needless to say, the couple was shocked at the sudden turn of circumstances. “We could not believe it. We had never seen the man before and have no idea who he is, but we are so thankful for his kindness,” said Massey.
After recovering from the initial shock they went to Auto Zone. “He said get the car fixed, so that is what we did,” said Massey.
Cox said the $100 paid for most of the repairs which included fuel injection cleaning and spark plugs.
Massey works at Penn’s Restaurant and Cox said he is between jobs. Both said they are thankful for the Good Samaritan plan to “pay forward” when they are able.
