Major Sheri Roebuck, 172nd Airlift Wing for the Mississippi Air National Guard, was the speaker at the Aisle of Honor program at Parkway Cemetery on Veterans Day.
In her address she paid tribute to all veterans and noted the supreme sacrifice made by those represented in the 300 burial flags which flew throughtout the day.
The Aisle of Honor held on Memorial Day and on Veterans Day is sponsored by United Veterans of Attala County.
Following the march by veterans along the cemetery drive to the James C. Foster Pavilion, Dr. D. Scott Wright, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, gave the invocation. Pledge of Allegiance was led by James Brandon Russell and Chloe Cloninger, Ethel High School student, sang the National Anthem.
Mayor Jimmy Cockroft gave the welcome. Veterans Service Officer Mervin Foster introduced guests and Emmette Armstrong, Commander of the Disabled American Veterans, introduced Major Roebuck.
Mississippi Army National Guard members served as the honor guard.
Following the program the American Legion Riders conducted a flag retirement ceremony on the grounds near the pavilion.
