Greenlee Elementary School students are participating in the Move to Learn program provided through the Mississippi Department of Education.
Coach Calhoun and Dale Dieckman, instructors with the program, visited the school last week and put the students though exercise routines adapted for use in the classroom.
Greenlee Principal Culley Newman said the program is already in use and has proven to be helpful in the learning process. He said students start the day with exercises set to music and the movements are repeated after students return to the classroom after lunch.
Founded in 1987, Move to Learn is an internationally recognized program which has been shown to initiate improvements in a student’s ability and capacity to learn.
