Simple exercises following the theme “Get Fit at Home” were demonstrated for a group at the Attala County Library by personal trainer Sammie Jo Pomeroy.
With the use of two cans of soup, she demonstrated exercises while sitting and standing that are beneficial in strenghtening and as an aid in weight loss.
She also taught those attending simple movements that can be performed throughout the day in the home while doing routine household duties.
She emphasized the importance of walking at least 20-30 minutes five times a week, or at least three times weekly.
Her presentation included tips on choosing the right foods to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Pomeroy is currently in training for the National Physique Committee Iron Muscle competition to be held in Pearl on June 2.
Pomeroy serves as manager and personal trainer at The Health Club in Kosciusko and at The Health Club in Carthage.
