Cameron Elizabeth Burgess and John William Martin were united in marriage on July 23, 2016, at The Chapel at Plein Air in Taylor.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Macdonald Burgess of Ridgeland. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Nabers Martin of Madison and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John White of Kosciusko.
The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Dr. Joseph Wheat of Highlands Presbyterian Church. The Bryan Ledford Trio and vocalist Mary Claire Rackley presented nuptial music.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a classic organdy and lace gown designed by Paloma Blanca. Her drop-waist gown featured a sweetheart neckline and an Alencon lace bodice, cascading into a full organdy skirt. Cameron’s one-of-a-kind look was completed with charming silk buttons down the back, a timeless, chapel-length lace veil and Swarovski art-deco earrings. She carried pink peonies, white hydrangeas, ivory garden roses and white snapdragons.
Maid of Honor was Catherine Abigail Burgess, the bride’s sister. Bridesmaids were Lauren Paige Leblanc, cousin of the bride, Elizabeth Douglas Baird, Katherine Blair Crawford, Rachel BartonCrim, Laura Walton Fenelon, Kristen Nicole McNair, Lucia Alise Murff, Anne Claire Thompson and Virginia Boyd Tyson. Caroline Kennington Newton was junior bridesmaid. Carlyn Delle White, the groom’s cousin, was flower girl. The bridesmaids wore blush strapless chiffon gowns and their bouquets complemented the bridal bouquet.
The bridegroom’s father was best man. Groomsmen were Samuel Clayton Martin, brother of the groom, Christopher Connor Burgess, brother of the bride, William Clancy Denny, Kyle Benjamin Grantham, Nathan Taylor Noble, John William Ratliff, Robert Bobby Ratliff, Andrew Walter Ritter and William Otis Vaughan. John Clayton White and John Hubbard White, cousins of the groom, were junior groomsmen.
Ushers were William Kurt Busch, Samuel Grey Cox, George Andrew Helow, Paul Joseph Helow, Jordan Kurt Holder and Charles Christopher Scott V.
A reception at The Mill at Plein Air, hosted by the parents of the bride, featured music by The Party Jammers of Memphis and the Bryan Ledford Trio. Floral arrangements were designed by Michelle Nowell, aunt of the groom.
On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom’s parents honored the wedding party with a rustic rehearsal dinner at Woodson Ridge Farms in Oxford.After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple is at home in Madison.
