The Ethel Lady Tigers basketball season came to an end this week, as the Lady Tigers took a tough 66-29 loss to McAdams in the first round of playoffs. Jasmine Williamson led with 11 points, while Makayla Merritt added eight points. Claire Tate added five points for the Lady Tigers. The Ethel Tigers earned their spot in the playoffs after fighting through the first round of the district tournament, however finished fourth in the tournament and faced off against the top seed Leflore County on Tuesday, results did not meet press deadlines.
In the consolation game of the district tournament, the Tigers took a 56-54 loss to Sebastopol. Caleb Merritt led with 18 points, while D’ante Bailey added 12 points. Jaylin Felton added six points, while Jake Newman added six.
