A Kosciusko man has been arrested and charged in connection with the molestation and grooming of a 10-year-old child, authorities said.
Jonathan Stokes, 22, of Kosciusko, was taken into custody Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025, following an investigation by the Kosciusko Police Department. Stokes faces charges of molesting or touching a child for lustful purposes and grooming.
The case began after the Mississippi Department of Human Services contacted the Kosciusko Police Department regarding an ongoing investigation involving allegations that a 10-year-old child had been inappropriately touched.
Stokes is being held at the Leake County Correctional Facility. His bond was set at $200,000.
Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing.
The charges carry up to 15 years in prison if found on each count if found guilty.
