The Kosciusko Attala Partnership received an award from the Professional Cowboys Association for holding the best new rodeo in its category.
Kosciusko Attala Partnership Executive Director Riley Hudson and Operations Manager Pati Edwards were invited to the Professional Cowboys Association 2022 finals rodeo where they accepted the award.
“The help of Jeremy Smith and his team with Deep South Rodeo Productions, all of our local sponsors who got behind the event, and the community support that showed up and filled the bleachers, ultimately got us an award for Best 700 Added Rodeo of the Year, which means best in our category in rodeo lingo,” said Hudson. “It was a huge honor. We worked so hard, and for it to be recognized is something very rewarding.”
The award-winning rodeo was held in Kosciusko on Sept. 23-24, 2022. The location for the rodeo was provided by Dickerson Petroleum.
“Attala County Co-Op, who became our title sponsor, jumped on in a huge way. And of course all of our other sponsors who backed the event and bought into something when they really weren’t sure what the quality of the event would be. But it seemed like everybody was supporting us and getting behind us so that was really neat to see,” said Hudson. “It just blew us away with all of the community support behind it.”
The Kosciusko Attala Partnership thanks Dickerson Petroleum for hosting the rodeo, The Attala County Co-Op for being the title sponsor, the city of Kosciusko for helping at the event, and the many other sponsors who helped make the rodeo a success.
“We just want to brag on all of the people, we did a lot of the footwork and making it all come together, but it would not have been possible without the local businesses that got behind it and supported it and sponsored it. It would not have been possible without them,” said Hudson.
