As the qualifying period for Mississippi’s 2025 municipal elections is in full swing, the spotlight falls on familiar faces, with all current officeholders signaling their intent to seek re-election.
The incumbents in Kosciusko who have declared so far include:
• Tim Kyle (Ind) – Mayor
• Earl Price (Ind) – Alderman At-Large
• James Culpepper (Rep) – Alderman, Ward 1
• Henry Daniel (Dem) – Alderman, Ward 2
• Robert Ellis (Rep) – Alderman, Ward 3
• Jeffery Woods (Dem) – Alderman, Ward 4
The qualifying period officially opened on January 2 and runs through January 31. During this time, potential candidates must file statements of intent with their municipal clerks, pay qualifying fees, and submit required financial and ethical disclosures.
The 2025 elections will decide the leadership in nearly 300 municipalities across Mississippi, including Kosciusko, Ethel, McCool, and Sallis. Leaders elected in June will oversee essential community functions such as infrastructure maintenance, emergency services, and local business development.
