Hilda Lucille Gregory, 96, of Kosciusko, passed away on August 8, 2023 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital Attala in Kosciusko. Funeral services were at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Culpepper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Parkway Cemetery. Visitation was scheduled for 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday and 9:00 – 10:00 AM on Saturday. Hilda worked as a salesclerk at A&A Grocery, the Smart Shop, and Leonard’s Department Store all on the square in Kosciusko. She enjoyed being an Avon sales lady. She volunteered with the Quilter’s Guild and also worked as a poll worker for many years. Hilda was a member of Parkway Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was involved in the ladies quilting group. She is survived by her daughter Fay Teixeira; granddaughter Noel Christine Tussey (Marshall); great-granddaughters Camille and Abigail Tussey; nieces Donna Jo Burkes Dees, Mary Ann Cooper, Melinda Gail Sims, Theresa Pigg, Penny Shea Burkes, Linda Fay Walker, Susan Collins, Barbara Moss, and Kim King; and nephews Paul Box, Stevie Box, Charles Pettit, Hulet Gregory, David Burkes, Buddy Burkes, and Allen Burkes. She was preceded in death by her parents Landreth Allen and Inez Massey Burkes, husband William (Bill) Gregory, sister Edna Earl Flanagan, and brothers Ennis, Harold Allen, James Lamar, and Hubert Elmo Burkes.
