Genita Byars, 88, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at her residence in Kosciusko.
Funeral services were 3:00 pm Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Culpepper Funeral Home Chapel in Kosciusko. Visitation was Sunday from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Culpepper Funeral Home. Butch Bell officiated.
Genita is survived by her son Lee Lawrence (Sylvia); daughter Norma Lawrence; grandchildren Melisa Thompson (Chad), Nikki Falconi (David), and Kristen Fancher (Phillip); great grandchildren Hadlee and Holt Fancher, Axel and Adeline Falconi, and Anniston Thompson; and sister Marie Quarles.
She was proceeded in death by her father John Camp and her mother Leona McKay; husband Jessie Byars; five brothers Elix, Felix, Milton, Mac and Wilton; three sisters Madonna Tolleson, Ether Wilbanks and MaryJo Phillips.
She was a member of Renfroe Baptist Church and a retired factory worker. After she retired, she enjoyed camping and fishing.
