A nationally-known motivational speaker will be in Kosciusko next week.
A contract to bring Morris Morrison to Kosciusko was approved by the Kosciusko School Board of Trustees during a special called meeting Thursday afternoon. Morrison will speed to students in grades 7th through 12th at 9 a.m. on Aug. 31 and for faculty and the community at 6 p.m. Both events will take place at the Attala County Coliseum.
Morris Morrison’s story did not begin on the stage - his story began in New York City after the loss of his parents at an early age, then, after losing his second set of parents as a teen. With the help and blessings of many “hero’s” in his life, Morris Morrison was able to graduate with his Bachelors and Masters Degrees before navigating the ranks of several fortune 500 organizations, including BB&T Bank and Pfizer Pharmaceutical Company.
Other action during the meeting include:
• approving Curriculum Associates as sole source for benchmark testing throughout the school year;
• approving Colby Wollfarth and Kristen Ferguson as substitutes due to pending certification.
The next scheduled meeting of the Kosciusko School Board of Trustees will be September 12.
