The Ethel Tigers picked up a pair of district wins this week, while the Lady Tigers went 1-1. The Ethel teams will host Sebastopol on Friday, before traveling to Leake County on Tuesday. Ethel faced McAdams this past Tuesday, but results did not meet press deadlines.
The week for the Lady Tigers started with a big 46-40 win over Noxapater. Makayla Merritt led the way for the Lady Tigers with 15 points. Jodie Black added 10 points, while Claire Tate added nine points. Addy Newman added six points, while. Jasmine Williamson added four points. The next game ended in heartbreaking fashion, as the Lady Tigers took a 43-41 loss to Nanih Waiya. Merritt led the way with 22 points. Tate and Black each added six points, while Newman added four points.
The Tigers went undefeated over the two games, starting with a nice 59-51 win over Noxapater. D’ante Bailey led the way with 15 points for the Tigers. Zantavious Clark came through as well, adding 13 points. Caden Merritt scored 12 points, while Caleb Merritt added eight points. Jaylin Felton added four points for Ethel. The next game was a dominant win for the Tigers as they took down Nanih Waiya 53-34. Bailey led the way with 18 points. Caden Merritt added 14 points, while Caleb Merritt added nine points. Clark gave the Tigers six points, while Eli Hill scored four.
