Both Ethel basketball teams picked up a dominant win on the hardwood this week with a clean sweep over French Camp Academy. The Tigers and Lady Tigers are now scheduled to face off against JZ George on Thursday, before facing St. Andrew’s on Friday.
Tigers:
The Tigers picked up a dominant 62-24 win over French Camp in dominant fashion. The Tigers led 16-6 after a quarter and 39-15 at halftime. They held the Panthers to just three points in the third quarter. Jake Newman led the way with 10 points. Zantavious Clark added nine points, while Lane Mitchell, D’ante Bailey, and Caden Merritt each scored six points. Jamarius Evans and Jaylin Felton both scored five points, while Jonathon Talley and Jeffery Blackmon both scored four points to complete the all hands on deck win for the Tigers. The Tigers earned a much needed win for confidence, after going winless a week ago.
Lady Tigers:
The Lady Tigers picked up another big win as they dominated the Lady Panthers. The Lady Tigers came out on top with a 53-14 win. The Lady Tigers were all hands on deck as well. Makayla Merritt led the way with 14 points, while Claire Tate added 11. Addy Newman added 10 points, while Jodie Black added nine points. Jasmine Williamson scored six points, and Sadie Kate Wood added two more. The Lady Tigers will be looking to continue their confidence after compiling a few wins at this point in the season.
