Lady Whippets seeking to improve serving game

First-year Kosciusko volleyball coach Lauren Peresich and her Lady Whippets are still seeking the first win of their inaugural season.

Kosciusko returned to action last Tuesday with a road trip to Nanih Waiya High School, where they were defeated 3-0. Nanih Waiya earned the win with scores of 25-10, 25-13 and 25-22.

Kosciusko held its intra squad scrimmage last Friday in place of a preseason jamboree after a late Cleveland Central cancellation.

Despite not playing against a different opponent, Kosciusko coach Kelly Causey said his team was still able to receive valuable work and reps during the live game simulation.

Scores of fans packed the Whippets’ gymnasium to witness history and support the hometown team in its inaugural volleyball match.

Causey likes the way Whippets heading after week one

Kosciusko wrapped up its full first week of practice Friday with a strong week-ending effort that drew praise from head coach Kelly Causey.

The Whippets battled stifling humidity during the latter part of the week but were rewarded with precipitation on Friday that cooled things down a bit.
