The Attala County Sheriff’s Office and Fire Department received donations from Attala County Disabled American Veterans Chapter 37.
The Attala County Board of Supervisors Monday approved a budget amendment for both departments, which increases their budgets with the additions of the donations.
“The Disabled Veterans had some funding that they wanted to donate to public safety agencies,” said Danny Townsend, Attala County Fire Chief.
“We gave them a list of some stuff that we need, and that’s what we are going to purchase with it.”
Attala County Fire received $1,000, and the Sheriff’s Office received $6,000.
“It was nice of that organization to do that for us, and we appreciate it greatly,” said Sheriff Tim Nail.
