Hunting season and beyond

Well, as this article hits the stands, the main course of the hunting seasons will be here. Deer archery and squirrel season will be open. I am waiting with baited breath as the summer months around my place are busy times with planting, harvesting, clearing fence lines, mowing and bush hogging.

Vanity

Well, the kick off to hunting season has arrived – dove season. Probably more gunpowder is burnt during this season than all of the others combined. Trying to hit this gray flying bomb can humble even the best of wing shooters and the results can put us in mind of vanity as described in the book of Ecclesiastes.

Tease of Autumn

Life celebration

This week my wife and I celebrated 34 years of marriage. It occurred to me that we have spent more time with each other than with anyone else in our families, including our parents and our children. That in and of itself is a milestone in our lives.
