My liberal friends are floundering. They have no message, and no messenger. So, their current tactic is to criticize Trump and his actions. They have found that calling Trump "Hitler" and his MAGA followers "Nazis" didn't sit well with the electorate, so they have dropped those accusations. Now they have turned to criticizing the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). This in spite of the fact that former president Bill Clinton along with Al Gore, and later President Barack Obama both announced that they would cut government waste. However, neither one followed through with achieving anything substantial. As of the time of writing, the savings from fraud and waste found by DOGE have amounted to $55 billion. These savings by Elon Musk and his young helpers have been denigrated. Musk has been criticized for being unelected. Neither Musk nor Trump can be accused of lining their pockets--they are both independently wealthy businessmen.
Let me ask my left-wing friends a couple of questions. Are you in favor of spending hard-earned taxpayers' money on sex change operations in Africa? What about paying social security to a 150-year-old man? And then there's the subsidies for electric vehicles, with government also paying for charging stations. Are you in favor of those? There are many such wastes and frauds that have been uncovered.
Democrats have also returned to their old playbook: using previously tried accusations to see if they'll stick. One such is the statement that Trump's tax breaks are for millionaires and billionaires when in fact all tax brackets benefited. Another old tactic is to revert to the January 6, 2021 riots. The commission that Nancy Pelosi set up was supposed to be bipartisan. The two republican nominees including Jim Jordan were denied, and were replaced by two pseudo-republicans, one of whom was Liz Cheney, a vowed "Never Trumper."
There are several questions about the findings of that committee that will probably be investigated in the future. Suffice it to say that Cheney was given a pre-emptive pardon by President Biden as he left office. What did she do that required pardoning? Could it be that she told a whopper or two to the committee? (Incidentally, I spoke with Representative Michael Guest recently and he gave the opinion that the use of pre-emptive pardons will be overthrown.)
The assassination attempt of Trump in Butler, Pa. will also be investigated. It was found that the shooter had two encrypted bank accounts in Europe. The old FBI chief said that they were unsuccessful in their attempts to open these encryptions. Hopefully those accounts still exist and will eventually be opened by the cleansed FBI under Kash Patel.
