The Attala County Board of Supervisors will soon auction off two rail cars.
The rail cars are located in District 4 of the county.
“Those are rail cars that we pulled off a bridge that we had to replace,” said Willie Perteet, District 4 supervisor.
The board approved posting a notice of sale at its Monday meeting.
The rail cars are located on Attala Road 4002.
“It’s two rail cars, but they will be sold as one unit,” said Perteet. “They are 9 by 5 in width and 70 feet long.”
The board will take bids from the public at its next meeting on May 15. Board meetings are held at the Chancery Court building. The rail cars will go to the highest bidder.
Also during the meeting, the board approved a bid for a project at the Attala County Industrial Building that will fix about 60% of the building’s roof. The board accepted the lowest bid, which was from Dixie Roofing. The county received funds from the state last year to put toward the reroofing of the building.
