Mark July 23-29 on your calendar, and make plans to attend the Central Mississippi Fair.
The Kosciusko Attala Partnership is gearing up for this year’s event, which will include exhibits, Wildlife Extravaganza and the return of the fair.
“We have a new group, Mississippi Delta, we’re excited about that,” said Pati Edwards, KAP operations manager, said about the fair.
“We’ve heard a lot of positive things. They take a lot of pride in their business, and we can tell that already. We’re hoping for a strong, fun fair,” said Riley Hudson, KAP executive director.
The exhibit hall will run Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and the fair will be held Thursday Friday and Saturday with different events each night.
This year, exhibit registration will be held on a Sunday, from 1 to 5 p.m. on July 23.
“We will take everything in all the categories,” said Edwards.
Categories include art show, photography show, home division, youth division, vegetable show, flower show, and fin, horn and feather. It’s free to register in show.
“Anybody can register,” said Hudson. “You don’t have to be a 4-H kid, you don’t have to be a professional photographer. If you have a great picture, you can enter. If you have one tomato plant in your backyard and you have a beautiful tomato, bring it, and then you could win cash and ribbons.”
All events will be held in or around the Attala County Coliseum.
The sports challenge will held July 27, and the popular Senior Day will be held July 28. There will also be a political meet and greet on July 28. Lumber Jack Day will be held on the last day of the fair, July 29.
