On Monday September 28, 2020, the Attala County School District was notified that one student at Ethel High School has tested positive for COVID-19. Following the MSDH guidelines, the student is in quarantine and all identified close contacts are being notified to quarantine, as well.
As required, ACSD reports updates to the MS Department of Health each Monday.
For the week of Sept. 21-25, which ended Friday, the district had reported no new positive cases of COVID-19 in district staff and students for the week.
One teacher, however, remained under quarantine from an earlier diagnosis.
Since August 17, when the district reopened schools, the district has reported positive cases in that one teacher as well as seven students.
In all, the district has 195 staff and 1,021 students.
