Meanwhile, Attala County poll managers will attend training Oct. 26-28 in the Election Commission office at the courthouse.
Sessions will be held at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, and Tuesday, Oct. 27. The only session Wednesday, Oct. 28, will begin at 9 a.m.
The training comes as election officials prepare for the Tuesday, Nov. 3, general election. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Voters eligible to cast absentee ballots in person have until Saturday, Oct. 31, to do so. Mail-in absentee ballots must be postmarked by Election Day, Nov. 3, according to the secretary of state’s office.
Statewide, voters had requested 37,101 absentee ballots as of Oct. 19. Circuit clerks’ offices had sent 36,509 ballots and received 29,647 completed ballots. Of those returned, 29,640 had been accepted and seven rejected.
The requested total represents voters who sought absentee ballots through their local circuit clerk’s office. The sent total reflects ballots issued by those offices, while the received total counts completed ballots returned.
Voters who have requested absentee ballots can track them through the My Election Day portal. A sample ballot is available on the secretary of state’s website.
