The Attala County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect connected to a shooting that occurred early Wednesday morning, Dec. 17.
According to a release from the sheriff’s office, Jarius Campbell is wanted for questioning in connection with the incident. Investigators said the shooting took place during the early morning hours, though additional details about the location and circumstances have not been released.
Campbell is described as a 29-year-old Black male, weighing approximately 187 pounds, with ties to the Durant area. Authorities indicated he is considered alive and should not be approached.
The sheriff’s office is urging anyone with information regarding Campbell’s whereabouts to contact Central Mississippi Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS or the Attala County Sheriff’s Office at 662-289-5556. Tips may be provided anonymously.
Law enforcement officials emphasized that information from the public could be critical to the ongoing investigation and encouraged residents to report any sightings or relevant details as soon as possible.
