It’s that time of year again!
Mayor Tim Kyle announced that applications for the Mayor’s Youth Council are now available.
Applications can be picked up at City Hall or at the Kosciusko High School office. The applications are due back Friday, Aug. 25.
The Mayor’s Youth Council is open to any student in grades 9-12 who attends Kosciusko High School.
The organization helps develop young leaders and teaches students the importance of being involved in their community through volunteer work. The members also learn about city government and become active participants in local events.
The mission of the Mayor’s Youth Council is to seek and develop young leaders who exhibit excellence in character through punctuality, accountability and adherence to rules and regulations.
Members of the Youth Council participate in community events, volunteer projects, a statewide summit, Board of Aldermen meetings, citywide clean-up and more activities.
The Mayor’s Youth Council was started by former Mayor Jimmy Cockroft in 2011.
