The Winona Christian track season came to an end last week.
Winona Christian’s Hanna Ware brought home the school’s only state championship at the MAIS Class 3A meet as she won the girls 400-meter dash and finished second in the girls 200-meter dash, getting beat by fractions of a second.
Winona Christian finished fourth overall in Class 4A with 69 points. Wayne Academy won Class 4A with 90 points while Central Holmes finished second with 89 points. Canton Academy was third with 78 points.
Here’s a list of the Winona Christian finishers in the state meet:
• In the girls 200-meter dash, Hannah Ware finished second with a time of 27.93, just a hundredth of a second behind Wayne’s Mallory Golden who finished in first place.
• In the girls 400-meter dash, Hannah Ware took first place with a time of 1:04.45.
• In the girls 3,200-meter run, Mackenzie Ingold finished sixth in the seventh with a time of 14:22.
• In the girls 100-meter hurdles, Katy Ware finished eighth with a time of 19.51. Ware also finished eighth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 5.03.
• In the girls 4x100-meter relay, Winona finished third overall with a time of 54.61. On the relay team was Bella Roberts, Hannah Robertson, Hannah Ware, Katy Ware, Allie Leach and Olivia Brooks.
• In the girls 4x200-meter relay, Winona Christian finished fourth overall with a time of 1:55.80. On the relay team was Allie Leach, Bella Roberts, Hannah Robertson, Hannah Ware, Katy Ware and Olivia Brooks.
• In the girls 4x400-meter relay, Winona finished fifth overall with a time of 4:43.97. On the relay team was K.K. Mullens, Bella Roberts, Hannah Ware, Katy Ware, Olivia Brooks and Milee Summerlin.
• In the girls 4x800-meter relay, Winona Christin finished fourth with a time of 11:29.55. On the relay team was Mackenzie Ingold, K.K. Mullens, Milee Summerlin and Sophie Bilsky.
• In the shot put, Bella Roberts finished third with a throw of 31 feet and .5 inches.
• In the discus, Roberts also finished third with a throw of 82 feet, 7 inches.
