Howard seeks chance in national MLB Pinch Hit Run

Aidan Howard, 11, participated in MLB Pitch Hit Run competitions from district to sectional and then advanced to the Houston Astros Team Championship Round at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas, during the past few months. Howard won the Astros Team Championship competition in Houston on Sunday, June 9. This event starts out nationally with around 600,000-700,000 participants in four age groups for baseball and softball. He has now made it to the round where only 30 participants are left competing in his age group. He is now in the running to advance to the final round of competition, which will be the MLB Pitch Hit Run National Finals. This will take place during MLB All-Star Week in Cleveland, Ohio, in July. He has the opportunity with advancement to win an expenses-paid trip to the MLB All-Star week and potentially snag fly balls during the MLB Home Run Derby.
