Thunder Baseball at USSSA Global World Series this week after state championship win

Thunder Baseball 10UAAA out of Kosciusko has won the 10UAAA USSSA State Championship in Brandon. The team was undefeated all the way to the title, winning the championship game 9-3 over the Mizuno Golden Spikes.

Thunder was set to travel to Orange Beach, Alabama, from June 30 through July 6 to compete with 28 other teams from Louisiana, Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky and Arkansas in the USSSA Global World Series.

Opening ceremonies were held Monday, July 1, to kick things off with the boys trading pins with each team battling for the title and to be honored on the fields.

Eight of the 11 players of Thunder Baseball were part of the 8U team that just two years ago won the state championship in Dixie Youth Baseball and became team Mississippi. They went on to represent Kosciusko and the entire state in the Little League 8U World Series, where they finished third, falling just one game short of a championship appearance.

Current team members are Jones Roberson, Brooks Kuhn, Braydon Rigby, Austin Horne, Bradley Goss, James Dalton Cummins, Cody Polson, Hayes Tyler, Rece Atkinson, Aidan Howard and Jackson Schuler. Shea Schuler, Robby Horne and Roy Cummins are the team’s coaches.
