Jeweline Veasley-James was born Feb. 8, 1963, to the late JB Veasley and Mamie Gregory Veasley in Kosciusko. She was the eighth of nine children.

The Winona Christian Lady Stars got off to a hot start to the season with four straight wins and claimed their own tournament title on Saturday.
The Lady Stars beat Indianola 6-0, Carroll 1-0, Benton 5-4 and then beat Manchester 7-4 to win the title.
