A premature end to a sports season is difficult for the athletes, and that is especially true when it is shaping up as a season to remember. Such is the case for powerlifting at McAdams. The girls and boys teams were both enjoying banner seasons that might be over.
It now appears that Saturday, Apr. 4, could be the date for the MHSAA Class 1A South State boys powerlifting meet at Ethel that includes McAdams, but nothing is definite at this time due to uncertainty caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
McAdams won the Class I girls South State powerlifting meet for 1A and 2A schools held in Brookhaven last week and qualified eight lifters for the state meet. The top three in each weight class advance to the April 18 state meet at the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson.
The opening match of the season for the Kosciusko golf team was delayed when a match scheduled for last week at Redbud Springs Country Club was canceled. “It was too wet. They weren't allowing anyone on the course,” said KHS coach Logan Cheek.
