Hitchcock-Robertson

Randa Nicole Robertson and Arthur Neil (Jay) Hitchcock, Jr. were united in marriage at six in the evening on September 29, 2007, at Parkway Baptist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Sherlene Mann Robertson of Kosciusko.

The groom is the son of Karen Higginbotham of Ridgeland and Neil Hitchcock of Mendenhall.

Dr. Joe M. Pate of Greenwood and Dr. Harold Kitchings, Jr., of Eustis, Fla., officiated.

Music was provided by Ceal Pate, pianist, and Trey Kitchings, vocalist.

The church featured four columns with the focal point being each column topped with green ferns, draped in white satin.

At the chiming of the hour, the bride entered the church, where the groom walked to meet her and escorted her to the altar.

Charming and romantic describes the beautiful strapless ivory gown worn by the bride. The pleated organza bustline, trimmed in bugle beads, pearl and silver embroidery, accented the empire waist. The waist was also accented by a band of satin champagne ribbon, tied in a French-knot. The fit and flare silhouette with a lace overlay was highlighted in back by satin covered buttons trailing down the entire length of the gown. Fortuni pleated organza created the semi-chapel train.

The bride wore a shoulder-length veil of organza accented with bugle beads and pearls. Her only jewelry was a pair of pearl and swarovski earrings, a gift from the groom. The bride and her attendants carried hand-tied bouquets of flame calla lilies made by her grandmother, Janie Mann Jackson.

The bride’s maid of honor was her sister, Cortney Robertson. Attendants were Liza Daniels, Sage Galligan, Presley Godbold, Erin Jansen, Benita Peacock, and Stephanie Trumm. They wore satin strapless cocktail length dresses in espresso, accented with champagne chiffon at the empire waistline.

Blake Hitchcock, the groom’s brother, served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Adam Butler, Matt Carpenter, Brent Long, Garret Nowell, Josh Revell, Chad Stokes, Hunter Bowering and Gavin Nowell. Junior usher was Brandon Milner.

Program attendants were Cassidy Darbonne of Grenada, and Ashley Milner, who also served as guest registry attendant and the bride’s proxy.

Jimmy Atwood drove the couple in his 1967 Pontiac to the outdoor reception at the home of Brian and Sandy McBride.

Reception

The bride’s table was adorned with a white Battenberg cloth and featured a nine-tiered cake stand of varying heights and designs, made by her grandfather, Doug Jackson.

The groom’s table was adorned with a camouflage cloth draped in burlap, and featured a chocolate cake, topped with a duck decoy.

Sandra Maddox and Cindy Long served the cakes, which were made by Kay Chipley.

Food tables, decorated by Janet Baird, Martha Kate Lawrence and Holly Millikan, were located in the patio area. Each table had glass vases filled with an assortment of green arrangements, overlaid with white Battenberg cloths and espresso netting.

Food was served by Janet Baird, Holly Millikan, Lawanna Lawshe, Liz Cole, Lisa Dendy, Debbie Nail, and Cindy Townsend.

Music was provided by Peter Christian and Crew from Madison.

Christy Curry, with the assistance of Amanda Hodge, coordinated the wedding and reception.

Photographer was Marianna Hydrick and video recording was by David Hutchinson.

The groom’s mother and stepfather hosted a rehearsdal dinner for the wedding party at Wanda’s Catering.

Following a short trip to Memphis and a surprise honeymoon to the bride from the groom in December, the couple is living in Murphysboro, Illinois, where the bride works for Macy’s as a visual merchandiser, and the groom is a graduate student at S.I.U. pursuing his master’s degree.
