— In a formal ceremony at the South Huntington Church of Christ, Kosciusko, Katherine Ivey Bush of Brandon and Jason Ross Gaughf of Madison were married on the evening of August 28. Officiating minister was Paul Franks of Lake Charles, La.
Katie is the daughter of Mrs. Lori Hayes Ivey of Brandon and Kenneth Randall Bush of Starkville. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. J. Marlin Ivey of Kosciusko and Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Randall Bush of Henderson, Tenn. Jason’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ross Neil Gaughf of Brandon, formerly of Madison. Seated as his honorary grandmother was Mrs. J.C. “Sonny” McDonald of Madison.
The front of the church was adorned with a large bank of flowers cascading from the baptistery ledge filled with white Oriental and Asiatic lilies. Two matching flanking banks accentuated the central arrangement. Tall cathedral candles and pillar candles were placed among the flowers.
Escorted to the altar by her father, Katie wore a silk strapless gown with a ruched skirt and cathedral train adorned with seed pearls. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of fully opened white Eskimo roses and stephanotis with French-braided stems.
Serving as maid of honor was Miss Lindsey Gibbs of Murfreesboro, Tenn. Bridesmaids were Miss Kelly Breland of Brandon, Miss Brittany Caldwell of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Miss Claudette Gilman of Diamondhead, Miss., Mrs. Brandi Mooney, sister of the groom, Jackson, Miss Katie Piddington of Atlanta, and Miss Lauren Rose of Mobile. Their floor-length strapless dresses were of black silk tied at the waist with champagne French silk ribbons. Their bouquets were of fully opened white Eskimo roses with French-braided stems.

Alexis Simmons of Kosciusko was the flower girl. She wore a full length dress of white silk with black embroidery and a black silk sash. Her bouquet was a miniature version of those carried by the bridesmaids.
Joseph Kellum of Starkville was Jason’s best man. Groomsmen were David Bush of Brandon, brother of the bride, Artis Garcia of Poplarville, Jared Hopkins of Metairie, La., Cory Howard of Madison, Todd Rinewalt of Madison, and Michael Roberson of Terry. Jason’s nephew, Leland Westphal of Madison, was the page.
The chorus sang “The Greatest Commands” after the seating of the mothers and grandmothers and “The Lord Bless You and Keep You” as a benediction. Members of the chorus were Mrs. Jim Dendy, Miss Caitlin Grymes, Mrs. William Grymes, Mrs. Bob McCafferty, Allen Coker, Robby McCafferty, Dr. Garvis Semore, and Jon Mark Smith.
The program attendants were Bren Grymes and Sara McCafferty, both of Kosciusko. Attending the guest registry was Mrs. Jenny Shoemaker of Nashville. Mrs. Natalie Ivey of Nashville was the proxy bride.

Reception
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the gardens of the Kelly-Jones-Ivey house on East Jefferson Street. Flowers used were stargazer lilies, Asiatic lilies, garden roses in shades of lavender, yellow, pink, and orange, snapdragons, delphinium, and belles of Ireland. Hundreds of yards of organza ribbon accented the bride’s table skirting.

Ribbon was also used as streamers on the hanging votives in the trees and accented the backs of the gold Chiavari guest-seating chairs. There were numerous stations for the festive refreshments, which were prepared and served by Davidson Catering of Canton.

Mrs. Ed Duncan and Mrs. Paul Franks served the bride’s cake and Mrs. Gram Hopkins served the groom’s cake.

Floral design at the church and the reception was by Becky Lawrence. The wedding director was Mrs. B.J. Swafford.

Jason has been deployed to Iraq for a year and Katie will be in Brandon during that time.
