Walden-Matison

Miss Jessica Suzanne Matison and Jonathan Lee Walden, both of Wasilla, Alaska, were united in Christian marriage Aug. 11, 2007 at 5 p.m. at the home of her father and step-mother, Paul and Teri Matison in Graham, outside Seattle, Wash., overlooking Mt. Rainer.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wes Rasberry of Kosciusko.

The bride was given in marriage by her father Paul Matison. She wore a white strapless gown with lace overlay adorned with beads and crystals and a short white veil with light satin trim. She carried a fresh bouquet of lilies, sunflowers, dahlias, orange montbretia, gerbera daisies, zinnias, blue lupine, and three leaf akebia trailing with a rainbow color satin ribbon.

The groom wore a deep brown tux with a white dress shirt, vest and tie to match.

The bride’s maid of honor was her cousin Alyssa Sensky of Tacoma, Wash. She wore a strapless soft pink satin dress with a small bouquet, similar to the bride’s.

Jared McQuagge of South Carolina, was best man. He also wore a brown tux, but with a lighter colored vest.

The four flower girls wore brown and taupe crushed satin dresses adorned with embroidered flowers. Each carried baskets of rose petals.

The ceremony was performed by Pastor Margaret O’Neal. Scripture was read from Matthew 19:4-6 and I Corinthians 13: 1-8.

Following the ceremony, a receiving line was formed and the couple greeted guests. Afterward, the family and over 200 guests were invited to a buffet dinner.

Following the couple’s first dance together, they cut the three-tiered wedding cake with layers of raspberry, lemon, chocolate and carrot cake. It was adorned with fresh flowers and satin ribbons of rainbow colors.

Guests included the bride’s mother, Ronda Redick and brother Joe from Big Lake, Alaska; her grandparents, Laura Leasure of Dutch Harbor, Alaska, Donna Redick of Anchorage, Alaska, Rodney and Judy Wilson, Norma Foster of Tacoma, Wash., Clare Henson of Ellensburg, Wash., and great-grandmother Alma Blake of Tacoma; the groom’s mother and step father, Becky and Wes Rasberry of Kosciusko; his father and half sister, Dale and Madeline Walden of Florida, and his grandmother, Helen Wheeley and his brother, Garrett Walden, both of Orlando, Fla.

Following a two-week honeymoon to Europe, they reside in Wasilla, Alaska, where Jessica works for an oncologist and Lee works for a building supply business and as a chef on a tugboat.
