Pamela Jean Novak and Captain Robert Lee Thomson, Jr. were married on July 5, 2008 at Due West United Methodist Church, Marietta, GA.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Novak of Kennesaw, Georgia. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Thomas Cook of Kosciusko, MS and Dr and Mrs. William Novak of Easton, MD.
The groom is the son of Colonel and Mrs. Robert Thomson of Marietta, GA. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Alden Gates of Tucson, AZ and Mr. John Drake Thomson of Jupiter, FL.
Officiating at the wedding was Rev. Cindy Blocksidge. Music was provided by Conbrio Ensemble. Captain Stuart Hamilton Peebles read Scripture during the ceremony.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a Priscilla of Boston gown of ivory cotton silk Mikado fashioned with a sweetheart strapless neckline and fitted waistline extending into a slim skirt flaired at the hemline with structured pleating falling into soft gathers sweeping into a chapel train. Her veil by Fenaroli for Regalia was edged in a deep border of re-embroidered Alencon lace.
The bride carried a bouquet of sahara and vendella roses, ivory peonies, peach roses, a touch of antique green hydrangea stems showing and handkerchief belonging to maternal great-great-grandmother.
Maid of honor was Miss Jamie Leigh Conine, of Kennesaw, GA. Attending the bride were Miss Elizabeth Blair McKown, Nashville, TN, Miss Rebecca Grey McWhorter, Jackson, MS; Miss Alison Laura Palm, Atlanta, GA; Mrs. Jessica McCracking Prier, Birmingham, AL; Miss Christen Mara Symmes, Gulfport, MS; Miss Erica Mikel Weatherford, Marietta, GA. Bridesmaids included sisters of the groom, Miss Tracey Lee Thomson, Los Angeles, CA; and Miss Tamara Christine Thomson, Marietta, GA.
Bridesmaids wore strapless a-line dresses of acorn dupioni sashed in ivory. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of ivory hydrangeas showing through peach roses, green mini cynbidium orchids and sahara roses wrapped in ivory ribbon. Proxy to the bride at the wedding rehearsal was Miss Corrie Elise Novak, cousin of the bride.
Serving as flower girls were Miss Kathryn Annelise Thornton of Laurel Mississippi and Miss Callie Ruth Drum, of Bartlett, Tennessee, cousins of the bride. They carried wreaths of green ivy with flowing ivory ribbon.
Serving as his best man was father of the groom, Colonel Robert Thomson of Marietta, GA. Groomsmen included Mr. Nathan Andrew Durham, Atlanta, GA; Mr. Kyle David Franklin, Atlanta, GA; Mr. James Joseph Gerda, Kennesaw, GA; Mr. John Davis Haliburton, Atlanta, GA, Mr. Chad Michael Hutchinson, Katy, TX; Mr. Samuel Michael Lanasa, Weehawken, NJ; Mr. David Jarvis Locke, Kennesaw, GA and Mr. Brian Owen Rhodes, Kennesaw, GA. Ushers were Mr. Jonathan David Douglas, Murfreesboro, TN. Also serving as ushers were brothers of the bride, Mr. Jason Scott Mashburn, Villa Rica, GA; Mr. Kevin Jeffrey Novak, Kennesaw, GA and Mr. Michael Thomas Novak, Kennesaw, GA.
Program attendants were Miss Alexandra Annie Litchfield, Miss Christina Jeanne Litchfield, Miss Jenna Nicole Litchfield, and Miss Emily Myra Novak, cousins of the bride.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at the Marietta Country Club. Guests danced to music provided by Loose Chain of Atlanta. Sparklers lit the path as the couple departed for a honeymoon to St Lucia. The couple now resides in Clarksville, TN.
On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner for the wedding party, family, and friends at Marietta Conference Center. In keeping with a 4th of July theme, table decorations included red rose petals, white lilies, and blue iris and candles.
Each guest received an American Flag.
