A convicted felon has been charged with domestic violence and breaking and entering.

Marcus Cole, 42, of Sallis, also known has Marcus Harmon, was apprehended by the Attala County Sheriff’s Department Dec. 19 for allegedly kicking in door of Valerie Truss’ McCool residence on Highway 407 and striking Truss.

Attala County Sheriff William Lee said Truss told the deputies that Cole had loaned her $200 for her rent and came to her home to collect the funds.

According to the ACSD report, Truss, who was frightened, said Cole jumped on her and began to hit her.

After Cole was taken into custody by Deputies Keith Cummins and Ritchie Atkinson, he kicked out the left rear window in the patrol car. Lee said he was then put into restraints.

Cole has been under house arrest since he was convicted of felony fleeing in September.

He has been taken to the Rankin County Jail.
