The 502 Fairground Street property will now be repaired by the sister of the former resident, Latina Gentry.
The Kosciusko Mayor and Board of Aldermen granted Angela Williams a 60-day extension on the recommendation of Alderman John Sullivan. Sullivan told the board you could trust what Williams was telling them.
Williams said she wants to move into the home quickly and wanted to make sure that everything at the residence was up to date. She said she is going to repair the windows, bathrooms and the sewer problem located underneath the house.
Mayor Jimmy Cockroft said the city had really been “hung out to dry” over the property.
During the Sept. 15 board meeting, Gentry was given a 60-day extension.
In other uncleaned properties, Nell Tadlock addressed the board about the 224 Cedar St. property. She was granted a May 4 extension and plans to find someone to renovate the structure.
