Customer was shot at over lotto card

By Leslie N. Dees

Bobbie Murray, who resides in Choctaw County, thought it was her lucky day when she was the winner of a $150 lottery/phone card on Tuesday.

Attala County Sheriff William Lee said when she went to claim her money at Mike’s One Stop on the Choctaw/Attala County line, she was first told she would have to return later when funds were available.

She did and according to Lee things got out of hand. Murray told deputies that clerk Hanna Suleiman became abusive and shot a gun over her head.

Lee said Suleiman disagrees about the complaint. Charges are pending.

In other arrests, Gary Williams, was charged with stealing a hand gun on Attala County Road 5977 Oct. 20.
