More items recovered from $1M heist

Attala County Sheriff William Lee said his department has recovered two additional pieces of machinery that are linked to the million-dollar equipment heist.
A gas welder and an eight-foot four-wheeler trailer were found. He would not disclose where they obtained the items.
On June 24, a tip lead the ACSD to the residence of Kenneth Joe Taylor on Attala County Road 3122, where they found several pieces of stolen equipment.

Other reports
– Jeremy D. Unger was charged with first offense driving under the influence and careless driving on Saturday on Highway 12 in Sallis.
– On Thursday, Aug 20, Dwight Mallet was charged with careless driving at the intersection of Attala County Road 4116 and Highway 429.
– On Aug. 18, Joe May reported his lawn mower was taken at his residence on Attala County Road 3024. The mower is valued at $1,500.
– On Aug. 11, Floyd Moore reported some items taken from his property on Attala County Road 4171.
Items taken were: an antique fertilizer distributor with bag, antique tractor grater blade, 20 six-inch tee posts, climbing deer stand, old plow blades and a tree stand. All valued at $700.
– On Aug. 6, New Hope Lutheran Church was broken into. Items taken include: paper products, communion wafers and coffee. Lee said a window was broken.
